HISA Approved Barrier Free Shower for Frank

Apr 25, 2025

This bathroom remodel was more than just an upgrade—it was a total transformation with a bold, modern twist. The project kicked off with a dramatic demolition: we removed everything from the old shower pan, tub, and surround, to the valve, the ceiling, the right side wall, and even the archway that once framed the entrance. Every outdated element was cleared away, with all debris safely hauled out, and our HEPA dust collection system ensured that the rest of the home stayed clean and breathable throughout the process.

Once the space was stripped down, we rebuilt it from the ground up with functionality, safety, and sleek style in mind. We prepped the walls using moisture-resistant greenboard to provide a long-lasting foundation and added internal backing to support ADA grab bars. A crisp white 36″ x 60″ composite stone shower pan was installed—barrier-free and slip-resistant, offering both accessibility and comfort. To complement it, we added a two-wall acrylic surround in an elegant silver white marble color, sealing all joints and edges for a flawless, watertight finish.

The homeowner had selected a bold matte black fixture design, and we delivered. We installed a Delta shower valve and handheld wand in black, perfectly blending form and function. The AquaChase ADA grab bar—also in a striking matte black—was securely mounted with a compliant system, offering safe support without sacrificing the clean aesthetic.

To pull the entire look together, we completed all the drywall repairs and matched the existing wall texture seamlessly, ensuring the new space felt like a natural extension of the home.

What once was a cramped and outdated bathroom is now a bright, open, and modern space built for everyday comfort and long-term ease. It’s proof that great design and practical upgrades can absolutely go hand in hand—and that a little demolition can go a long way in creating something truly special.
