Hisa Approved Barrier Free Shower for Steven

Every great transformation begins with a clean slate—and for this bathroom remodel, that meant rolling up our sleeves and diving into a full demolition. Out went the old shower pan, tub, valve, glass, and tired surround. As always, we used a HEPA dust collection system to keep the home environment as clean and safe as possible during the process.

With the space cleared, we laid the foundation for something fresh and functional. We prepped the walls with moisture-resistant greenboard and installed sturdy backing in the walls to support grab bars, ensuring safety without sacrificing style.

Then came the heart of the renovation: a beautiful, barrier-free acrylic shower designed for accessibility and ease. We installed a slip-resistant composite stone shower pan in a clean white finish, complete with a collapsible foam threshold and a clever curtain clip to help keep water inside the shower. A new drain was installed and repositioned to suit the updated layout, and we sealed everything tight for long-term durability.

The new three-wall acrylic surround, finished in a crisp white subway tile pattern with elegant grey veining, extended up the walls to create a modern, spa-like feel. The space was further enhanced with a brushed nickel shower valve, featuring a matching handheld wand and shower head for flexibility and comfort.

To make this shower truly personalized, we installed three brushed nickel corner shelves right where the homeowner wanted them—perfect for storing essentials within easy reach. A brushed nickel grab bar, mounted securely with ADA-compliant backing, added both safety and style.

One standout feature? A floating teak shower seat, installed with reinforced backing. Not only does it offer a luxurious touch, but it also folds up neatly when not in use—ideal for maintaining an open and airy feel.

Behind the scenes, we coordinated all the moving parts: ordering materials, scheduling work only once everything was in hand, and ensuring our timeline aligned with the homeowner’s needs. Our process is designed to minimize delays and maximize peace of mind.

In the end, what was once a dated and enclosed space is now an inviting, accessible retreat—clean lines, thoughtful design, and comfort in every detail. It’s more than a remodel. It’s a transformation that will serve this home beautifully for years to come.
